The brain injuries one could suffer in a car accident

A motor vehicle collision is capable of causing significant trauma and other physical effects for the occupants of the vehicles. The effects of a TBI 

A traumatic brain injury has the potential to impact a victim for the rest of his or her life. TBIs occur when there is a forceful blow to the head, such as in a crash. These injuries have the potential to impact the external parts of the head, as well as the brain. Common types of TBIs include: 

  • Concussion – The effects of a concussion can be minor, or they can be long-term and debilitating. 
  • Open TBI – This occurs when an object has penetrated the skull, doing both internal and external damage. 
  • Complicated TBI – This is a TBI that may result in bleeding in the brain and permanent damage. 

The effects of a TBI can include cognitive problems, memory issues, confusion, permanent damage to the brain and more.  

After a car accident 

A car accident or other type of personal injury incident can leave a North Carolina victim with a long-term or permanent brain injury.
